Really what do we do if we are not confirmed Labor!
Please, to abstain or just ‘muck up your vote’ is cringeworthy. If it’s not a lost vote for the opposition (libs), then back the government and let them be less concerned about ‘numbers’ and more concerned about worthwhile, long term initiatives and policy. Give them a real chance! Give us a real chance not to be hung by negative party politics. Will the ex Premier stand or not – what a nonsense.
In reality Labor haven’t done a bad job, sure ‘ramping’ is all over the place, depending on what you read, lots of money has been spent, but by in large we will all benefit – yes one could argue about the value for money BUT it is hard to get good deals when asking as government. A bit like announcing you are looking for pricing on catering or flowers for a wedding or major occasion – the price immediately goes up.
On such projects as the Women’s and Children’s AND the completion of the Darlington by-pass, we do have a lot of time to amortise the cost – don’t do it today IT WILL cost a lot more tomorrow!
So, our choice – the Liberals- well really what a shambles, in fighting, poor onward thinking, plenty of negativity both inside and outside their party. The newish ONE NATION – apparently have some-one facing up for each electorate – more than the liberal have achieved yet – after all this time – they who have been seen as established/establishment?! At this early stage of their national growth, would probably be a useful opposition!
If the Liberals can’t get enough support early, to put forward candidates, then why should we have any sense of hope or trust that they could deliver on anything – certainly anything not copied from Labor or adapted from Labor.
Pauline whatever you may think of her, has pretty much remained solid behind her ideas – faced the cameras in difficult situations and dug her heals in and came out fighting. Why you might have really found obnoxious about her policies might at this time, seem more realistic – at least you know where she stands – not so impacted on by the Murdock press’s / media’s last editorial, hot-jock comments.
I look at the candidates standing for One Nation, really unknowns most of them – is that so bad. We see what the ‘knowns’ can’t do, how it seems too much about ‘what’s in it for me’, ‘how do I get preselected’ – ‘what do I have to say’?. That’s not to say they are not honest in their intentions but so suffocated in the delivery.
Both nationally and State, the Liberals and the Nationals (maybe to a lesser degree?!) are completely lost and to vote either of them in, at either level of government, would surely be fool hardy – they can’t patch themselves together, how would they have time for policies to run government -to low after our futures.
This is a very important State Election – don’t throughout away Wirth what ‘mum and dad did’, or what would our friends think – don’t tell them, lie if you need to to stay safe in your group, BUT don’t donkey vote Labor Into oblivion.
