Things to think about when considering people, you interact with and even as close as to you, interacting with others.
- Almost everything can be solved when we move the responsibility to self and take it away from the “if lonely they ‘didn’t’ sentiment.
- Almost everything can be solved when we change our expectations and paradigms relating to the topic we are seeking to alter.
- Almost everything can be solved when we change our pre-emptive conclusions.
- Almost everything can be solved when we change out words & sentences.
Diverticulitis – Medical term – Diverticulosis occurs when small defects in the muscle of the wall of the large intestine or colon allow small pockets or pouches (diverticula) to form
When small defects occur in any relationship, small pockets of anxiety, irritation, anger, and closed communication almost always appear. The level of hope, of positive expectation, takes a hit and everything becomes self-fulfilling – “I thought they wouldn’t listen, and they didn’t”. Responsibility is pushed away to someone/something else and only to be replaced with hope things will change and in reality already prophesising that it will not. A sense of helplessness/hopelessness, just getting through this day to come back again tomorrow and experience the same things. Energy dropping, self-esteem drooping, and interactions at work and home becoming more problematic. The downward slope.
If nothing changes then nothing changes, is a long-aired comment, and it is wrong.
In fact, if nothing changes everything else gets worse and more difficult to reconstruct.
People and situations ‘live up or down to expectations & the result becomes self-fulfilling
FACT –
* people like to talk about themselves – yes even the introverts when encouraged
* people like to be listened to
* people do not like being wrong
* people do not like being over-spoken
* people yearn for respect and trust
* people like to teach / to mentor / to coach and too often don’t like that happening to them
* people like to hand out KPI’s but often are not keen to receive them
* people like – need to be included
When all these things are considered and enacted, the result is a positive culture, employer of first choice, limited sick and absenteeism, team turnover minimises and true teamwork results.
In a nutshell, people establish and maintain and build on their patterns. How they work and treat each other. Actually, nurturing their negative situation whilst blaming the ‘other’ person. They put up with situations convincing themselves, others convincing them, that there is no real solution.
This is the challenge, to identify new ways to think about a situation, new words and sentences to achieve the goal of establishing equal value and a positive environment.
Be assured, there are solutions to these negative, blinding situations BUT rarely from within self or within the usual reference groups who have already forecast the impossibility.
