Has any one noticed that where a pronoun is needed, more and more often the female is used, eg an article about ORSC,
“Human beings are complex, and a single person is a system unto herself,…”
Some years ago I put forward the idea inventing a new system to get away from the male dominated him and he etc and that was He/she = se; him/her= hem. I had a group of these described. Equally I do not like the him/her alternative, which should go first? I do believe that part of breaking the male dominance is language BUT I do not think that is replacing he with her.
