There they are, the same old parties, same rhetoric, empty promises, saying what they think we want to hear.

Then along came the TRUMPET OF PATRIOTS! Lots of money, huge promises, little substance, being yelled at us through these hideous yellow pages time and time again. If that’s not a big enough turnoff, we don’t know any of them, and the leader, also largely unknown, has no energy to tell us who she is. Just that she and her colleagues will make it all happen—everything we want, like magic! Really? ‘s web page

OK, if you bother to go to the TRUMPET’s web page https://trumpetofpatriots.org you can read about them and they don’t look half bad. I have to wonder though, is Suellen or Clive asking them what they think or are they all just going along with the advertising agency’s brief? Surely, they can’t all be agreeing with the direction their promotion is going? Probably more of the same as the majors, “we tell you, you listen and then repeat”.

Having said that, we obviously need new people, new thinking, less of the ‘same ol same ol’. We need energy and daring! We need it urgently!

So, if the TRUMPET’s are to get enough votes to make any difference at all, they will need to rethink their promotion and the content of that – seriously and urgently.

Here is some of what I have sent some of the candidates:- (what do you think?)

Too much Suellen, not enough the leadership team. No one knows her, share the spot light. Not much time left, not really enough to build more than one brand – the Trumpet – secondary spend/attention would be well served to focus across candidates, by state.

Anyway, so who is Sue Ellen? She seems to be just a photo superimposed on your usual rhetoric? Really little of her as a person – I think we vote as much for (or against) the person and their credibility?

Those who have read the yellow pages already have. Those who haven’t aren’t going to.

The TRUMPET needs to give a new brief to their media/advertising advisors (or interact with them differently) before all of Clive’s money is spent. Already, probably most of the potential voters’ patience, energy and interest in the loose, blancmange-like messages contained in those pages has been lost. There is no doubt we need to shake up the major parties, but ‘shouting’ at the public, in the yellow pages, over and over again – that’s past its use-by date. You, or your mum, probably said to you something like “how many times do I have to tell you”, and “I might as well be talking to a brick wall”, and you know where that got her.

Try something else to attract the potential voter who has already, along with the racing pages, the ever-present white/brown goods advertising pages, automatically turned your page, the TRUMPET page, without reading the hyperbole.

Try reverse block rather than yellow (white print on a black background), it’s cheaper and will make a brand new impact on everyone. The letter box stuffers – I am sure I don’t know why people do this, the big advertisers gave them up years ago, they are worse than ineffective and an annoyance to the majority, just like going to my Australia Post Office box and having to contend with it being full of ‘stuffers’! Wasted money and time of volunteers. Why not try and engage with the public, ask them to complete a survey on your advertising page, ask leading questions and get them to use a pen and answer for themselves, yes/no sort of thing – engage not shout. The shut off time will be here before you know it – stop promoting Clive as next Prime Minister – that’s cookoo land stuff; at best you can hope to get a few seats and that will give you potentially balance of power or at least influence – that’s more realistic – its such and overstatement, lacking credibility and hence reflects back on you, and your colleagues. A real reason not to vote for you.

WE DO NEED NEW THINKING.

WE DEFINITELY NEED ENERGY AND THE CONVICTION NOT TO BE LEAD BY THE DAILY PAPERS.

WE DEFINITELY NEED TO COST UP BUT NOT BE SCARED BY THAT – THE GREATER GOOD AT THIS TIME IS PARAMOUNT.

The TRUMPETS have only a short time to address what is not working with their thinking and promotion or, the chance will slip by. Good people caring about our country, BUT they have to cut through all the noise of the majors and the media
